How to Register to Teach Overseas with Prospero Teaching

Get in touch.
Start the process by completing a pre-registration form (see below).

You can send your CV to <a href="mailto:international@prosperoteaching.com">internationalhub@prosperogrp.com</a>. One of our consultants will get back to you within 24 hours to discuss. They can also advise you on writing the perfect CV.

1. Get in touch

Chat with a consultant from one of our dedicated international teams.
We will contact you on the phone and talk you through your CV and other information to determine your suitability and requirements. You will then be invited in for an interview.

2. Talk to a consultant

Attend a face-to-face interview.
We will meet with you to discuss your requirements. When you come in for the interview you will need to bring in the following items to help us complete the process of clearing you for work.

<li><a href="https://www.prosperoteaching.com/from-overseas/right-to-work/">Proof of the right to work in the UK</a></li>
<li>Proof of ID (if not the same as the above)</li>
<li>Overseas police check</li>
<li>Details of teaching qualifications</li>
<li>Contact details of at least two professional referees</li>
</ul>
If you do not currently possess a UK DBS check (formerly known as Criminal Record Check) we can start the process for you.
This interview helps us to understand more about your skills and match you to the right opportunities in the UK. We will discuss locations, availability of work and market conditions with you. We’ll also fill you in on <a href="https://www.prosperoteaching.com/2015-10-06/teachers-new-to-the-uk-and-prospero-teaching/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">things that we help you with</a> on arrival, for example: UK bank accounts, accommodation, travel advice, National Insurance and maximising your take-home pay by offsetting your expenses against your income.

3. Attend an interview

Prepare for a new education system.
We will suggest various websites for you to look at in order to familiarise yourself with your new education system, National Curriculum, schemes of work and resources available to local teachers.

4. Access training & guidance

Complete your registration.
Once your file is cleared, you are eligible to start teaching in the UK. The length of time from initial online registration to Step Six (starting work) varies, so it&#8217;s best to register as soon as you start thinking about teaching in the UK.
