Prospero Teaching are looking for an ambitious and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) background to work at our client primary school in Southsea. Your role will be to work with students who need extra support with speech, language and communication skills.

In this role, you will collaborate with experienced professionals, such as speech and language therapists and SENDCo staff, to gain invaluable experience in communication support, intervention techniques, and working with students with a variety of speech and language conditions.

You will play an essential part in the students’ journeys by helping them build confidence, achieve academic goals, and develop social skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.

Contract Details for the Teaching Assistant role:

  • Location – Southsea
  • Position – Teaching Assistant (SALT Specialism)
  • Start date – ASAP
  • Contract type – Temporary/Permanent
  • Full time/part time – Full-Time Monday to Friday
  • Minimum rate of pay – £13.96 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • If you have GCSE qualifications in English and Maths, minimum of a grade 4/C (or equivalent)
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Will embrace our highly supportive and professional culture
  • You may be interested in entering the teaching profession
  • You wish to develop their skills and embrace ongoing training and development

To be eligible as a Teaching Assistant role through Prospero Teaching you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
