ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced, motivated and resilient Teaching Assistant/Youth Worker to support students in a Secondary Alternative Privision school in Bristol, (BS11).

The school caters for pupils 11-16 who are aiming for successful reintegration to a new mainstream school or leading into employment or further education. Students can seem quite disengaged in their studies and need support staying on task.

Located in North Bristol, the position is open to all experienced individuals that have a background in youth work, sports coaching, support work or have any other experience of mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

  • Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary – Permanent
  • Full time/part time – Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay – £80 per day
  • Hours – 8:30 am – 3.30pm : Mon – Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a similar setting
  • LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable
  • GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
