Teaching Assistant – Barnsley

Prospero work closely with high achieving schools based in Wakefield and one of our fantastic schools are currently seeking creative and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join them.

The successful candidate will be able to provide exceptional support to students in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and demonstrate good behaviour and classroom assistance/management.

Contracts/Positions Details

• Location: Wakefield
• Position- Primary Teaching Assistant
• Type of work- Part time
• Contract – Long term
• Start Date- ASAP
• End Date – N/A
• Duration – Ongoing
• Minimum rate of pay – Mininum rate £70
• Hours- 08:30 – 3:30

Your responsibilities will include;

• Classroom support – activities, organisation, engagement, behaviour, emotional support
• Working with children on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
• Support in therapy sessions
• Break/Lunch time supervision
• Keeping progress reports

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential)
• Previous experience working in a UK School
• Experience working with children in education or in a similar setting
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training can be provided)

To be Eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide atleast two professional references.
