🌟 SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary – Trafford (Full-Time) 🌟

Job Title: SEND TA1
Area: Trafford, Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm

About the school:

Are you a nurturing and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A warm and inclusive primary school in Trafford is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help make a real difference in pupils’ lives.

This full-time role involves working with children across Key Stages 1 and 2, many of whom have additional needs such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and communication difficulties.

🧩 About the role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions
  • Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day
  • Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting)
  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
  • Strong understanding of Autism and SEND
  • A relevant TA qualification

To be eligible you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references

This is a full-time position starting in September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate).
