SENd Teaching Assistant – February start – Tameside

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant and looking for your next role? Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting young people with additional learning needs?

We are currently supporting an secondary school in Tameside who are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, empathetic and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team after the February half term or as soon as possible if you are available. It will be full time and will be for the rest of the academic year until July. You will be supporting pupils with various additional needs ranging from 11 to 16 years of age. There could be times where the pupils may display some behavioural difficulties. You will also be providing support to students in small groups, a 121 basis and working closely with the class teacher.

The team at this organisation are dedicated to continuously working closely with parents and carers to provide the best possible outcome for each child. Offering various enrichment activities which in turn encourages pupils to progress through the various aspects of the curriculum.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience providing personal care with young people (desirable)
Previous experience working with young people with additional needs (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, but we can provide training)
Up to date Prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, but we can provide training)
Up to date behaviour management training (desirable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Autism (ASD/ASC)
Previous support work, TA or LSA work within a UK school or other related experience.
A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
