Are you an experienced SEN practitioner ready to make a lasting impact on vulnerable learners this September? Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with local council’s to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for children who are out of mainstream education and require focused support in Maths and English.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for tutors who believe in inclusive education, who have the skills and patience to support students with diverse needs in a flexible setting.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Deliver engaging, 1:1 Functional Skills sessions in Maths and/or English tailored to each learner’s academic level and EHCP targets.
  • Support students with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
  • Use calm, consistent strategies to build positive learning relationships and nurture engagement over time.
  • Liaise with families, carers and local professionals to ensure continuity and meaningful progress.
  • Foster a safe, empowering learning environment where every student feels heard and capable.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting students with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
  • Proven experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills and/or GCSE-level Maths or English.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

Desired Experience:

  • SEN Qualifications, ABA Training, or experience with Autism-specific strategies ( PECS, TEACCH)
  • PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working in an alternative provisions, home education settings, or on a 1:! basis outside the classroom.
