Teaching Assistant

Are you a qualified or unqualified teacher or teaching assistant looking for a new teaching opportunity in Warrington? We are seeking talented individuals to place in SEN and Alternative provision schools across Warrington.

Training for unqualified applicants can be provided before being placed in a school.

If you have overseas experience as a teacher, you can also apply.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent): A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C (or equivalent) is often required, including English and mathematics.
  • Level 3 qualification: Some schools may prefer candidates with a Level 3 qualification, such as a BTEC or NVQ in Early Years Education or Childcare.

Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teachers: Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent, QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS ( Qualified Teacher Learning Status)
  • Teaching Assistants: Level 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent

Experience ( Not mandatory):

  • Previous experience working with children: Experience in childcare, tutoring, or other related fields can be beneficial.
  • Teaching assistant experience: While not always required, experience as a teaching assistant can be advantageous.

  • Excellent communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and teachers is crucial.
  • Patience and empathy: Teaching assistants should be patient and understanding when working with students.

Additional Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check: A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is usually required to ensure the safety of students.
  • First aid certification: Some schools may require teaching assistants to have first aid certification.
