Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to find their next role, and work in a SEN based School setting in an OFSTED graded ‘GOOD’ school in the Chester.

A successful applicant will have a Teaching Assistant qualification or higher and will have 12 weeks+ of experience working with children in a SEN school setting. You will be expected to cover class in the absence of a teacher, small group, and large group interventions in KS2 and 3 settings. Safeguarding training is preferred but not required as training is provided.

Prospero Teaching provide staff to schools and colleges across Merseyside and Cheshire, including SEN schools. We are currently looking to fill a Teaching Assistant role in Chester. The strongest applicant will have confidence in leading a group of children in absence of their teacher, reading, and writing sessions and will have good behavioural management skills as well as 1 to 1 roles.

  • Duration / Likely Duration – ongoing
  • End date (if applicable) – End of the academic year – onwards
  • Contract type – Ongoing
  • Full time/part time – Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay – Minimum of £104
  • Hours – 8:30 am – 3:30pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a UK school.
  • Previous experience working in or around an SEN setting.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child related references.
