At Prospero, we work closely with local authorities across the UK to provide bespoke tuition for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our mission is to support children in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their full potential. Join our dedicated team and play a pivotal role in transforming lives through education in and around Barking and Dagenham.

The Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Tutor, you will provide personalised support in Maths, English, or Science to children with SEN. Your sessions will be tailored to meet individual needs, helping students develop academically and personally. Lessons will take place in settings such as schools, the child’s home, or local libraries within the Barking and Dagenham area.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects, adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Utilise your experience with SEN to implement effective teaching strategies and build student confidence.
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide detailed feedback to parents, guardians, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with parents, schools, and other professionals to create and maintain effective support plans.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with SEN.
  • A SEN qualification or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (or already have one).

Desired:

  • Teaching qualifcation such as PGCE in a core subject or QTS.
