Are you an experienced, passionate and proactive Teacher who is looking to make a long-term difference to the lives and progress of young people who face barriers to learning? If so, we want to hear from you today!

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to promote the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Alternative Provision Settings in Hartlepool on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.

About the Role:

  • The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with SEMH, and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Working with Secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream School and have SEMH and SEND of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • The role will involve managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to engage pupils and to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

About the School:

  • The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Hartlepool.
  • The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range who have SEMH and challenging behaviour

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Pay – Between £130-200 per day
  • Hours – 08.30-16.00
  • Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. For the right candidate, a Permanent job offer may be made.
  • Start Date – ASAP
  • Location – Hartlepool

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • QTS and Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
  • Strong Behaviour Management skills
  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
  • Experience of Teaching within the UK
  • A genuine passion for Teaching and building relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning
