Brief description:
Seeking a skilled teacher to deliver high quality, engaging science lessons and contribute to strong student progress.

About the role:
The role involves delivering pre-planned, differentiated science lessons across KS3-KS4, contributing to assessment for learning, and maintaining high expectations for all students. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, managing resources and practical equipment effectively, participating in faculty meetings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safe and positive learning environments. The role also includes supporting whole‑school policies, liaising with parents and external agencies, and contributing to wider school life.

We’re looking for a dedicated candidate to:

  • Teach high quality, engaging and well‑planned science lessons
  • Deliver practical activities safely and effectively
  • Use data to support student progress and achievement
  • Attend faculty meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, classwork and homework
  • Support school monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Promote positive student engagement and high aspirations
  • Undertake form tutor responsibilities when required

Requirements –
The ideal candidate would have:

  • Strong subject knowledge in science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
  • Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons across key stages
  • Understanding of assessment for learning and effective feedback
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a faculty team
  • High expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement
