Science graduate – Teaching Assistant – Derbyshire

Are you a recent graduate of Science looking for work in education?

We are working exclusively with a large Secondary school in North Derbyshire, who are looking for a recent graduate of Science, who could be looking to pursue a career in education or wishing to embark on a PGCE in September 2023. You will be working in the Science department as a tutor and teaching assistant. The role will start as soon as possible, it will be full time and will be for the rest of the current academic year.

You will be responsible for supporting small groups of pupils within the Science department, working with key stage 3 & 4 students, you will also have a small timetable (these are called intervention groups) where you will provide intensive support to small groups of learners. You will formulate a superb understanding of the curriculum at KS3 & 4 Science. You will be supported by outstanding teachers and a strong, highly recognised leadership team.

Minimum rate of pay – £70 per day
Hours – 8:30am – 4 pm Monday to Friday

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree educated with a good classification, in a Scientific role
High grade in Science & Maths at GCSE level
A level in any of the following – Science, Biology, Chemistry, Phyiscs
Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, we can provide the training)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS that is registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide professional references to cover the last 2 years
