About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced and compassionate tutor to support primary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the M22 area. You will deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to help these students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their academic potential. The role is ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about making a positive impact on childrens education.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personalised tutoring sessions for primary school students with SEN, adapting content and teaching style to meet individual needs.
Support students in developing core skills in subjects like Maths, English, and general study habits.
Create a nurturing, supportive, and safe learning environment where students feel confident and motivated.
Track students’ progress and offer regular feedback to parents/carers.
Develop individual learning plans, with a focus on therapeutic approaches when needed, to support various SEN needs (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Essential Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience tutoring or teaching primary-aged children, particularly those with SEN.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
Strong ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.

Desirable Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in Primary Education.
Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH.

Additional Information

Sessions will primarily take place during school hours, with occasional after-school or evening availability.
