Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting primary school students across Rochdale. About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher to deliver high-quality education. You’ll be working closely with students to help them understand lesson content, providing individual or group support, and ensuring all students are engaged and supported in their learning. You’ll also assist in maintaining a well-structured and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons, supporting students with their learning needs.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning, offering targeted support.
  • Help with classroom management, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Provide emotional and social support for students, helping them build confidence and engage with their peers.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Track and report on student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with personal care or special requirements as needed.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

About You:

  • A minimum of Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting in the UK for a minimum of 6 months is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, flexible, and positive attitude toward working with children.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • A DBS check or willingness to undergo one (Prospero Teaching can assist with this).
