Our client, a reputable secondary school in the Doncaster area, is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Manager to join their team immediately. As a key member of the school’s pastoral team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students’ welfare, mental health, and behavior are effectively managed and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for students requiring pastoral support.
  • Manage and oversee behavior and attendance concerns, working proactively to ensure positive student outcomes.
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure appropriate support for students.
  • Provide one-to-one support for students facing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student well-being, engagement, and behavior across the school.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress.
  • Promote and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role, ideally within a secondary school environment.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Resilient, patient, and able to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
