Outreach Tutor

The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching are currently on-boarding teachers and mentors to join their tutoring team for the full academic year in the Wandsworth area.

The mentor will deliver Literacy and Numeracy support and will be expected to conduct a baseline assessment to assess the student’s ability to deliver the curriculum they deem suitable.

The support will be taking place at the young person’s home or in a local library on a part-time basis (up to 15 hours per week).

Contract/Position Details:

• Location: Wandsworth
• Hours: up to 15 hours per week
• Start date: As soon as possible
• Duration: ongoing until a school placement is found
• Contract Type: Temporary/part-time
• Pay Rate: from £22 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications required:

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications is preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience and experience delivering tailored lesson plans
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils

To be eligible for this role, the candidate must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child-related references.
