Music Teacher

Music teacher – Stockport – January start

Prospero teaching are working closely with a secondary school in Stockport who are recruiting for a temporary teacher of music from January until July.

All candidates will need to hold qualified teacher status and have recent experience teaching music in a UK school to key stage 3 & 4.

The successful candidate will be required to have recently taught key stage 3 & 4 classes and ideally have steered students to gain excellent GCSE exam results. You will also need to be able to provide exceptional support to students in their classes both practical and theory and be able to demonstrate good behaviour and classroom management.

Start date January 2025

Duration – 2 terms

Contract type Full Time

Minimum rate of pay GBP162.31 per day

Hours 8:00AM 4:00PM

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, QTLS, PGCE, SCITT or equivalent

Previous experience teaching Music in a UK school

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, but training can be provided)

Up to date Prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, but training can be provided)

Music teaching experience in the UK desired

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Have a valid and recognised teaching qualification

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional teaching related references
