We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Barnet. This is a permanent role on a 50-week contract, providing full-time support to students in a vibrant, inclusive educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in the delivery of the curriculum, ensuring that all students are engaged and supported in their learning.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties, tailoring support to individual needs.
  • Help to manage classroom behavior, ensuring a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons and activities.
  • Support students in their social, emotional, and personal development, promoting inclusion and building their self-esteem.
  • Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to reports.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Supervise students during lunchtime, playtime, and other non-teaching activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment.
  • A good understanding of the national curriculum and how to support students in their learning.
  • Experience working with students with SEN or learning difficulties (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards working with children.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • First aid training (desirable).
  • Experience with specific learning programs or interventions (e.g., phonics, literacy support, etc.).
