Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a General Teaching Assistant to work Key Stage 2 in a vibrant primary school in Middleton. This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils and enjoys being part of a dedicated school team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support across KS2, assisting with learning activities
Work with individuals and small groups to boost progress in core subjects
Support the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource management
Promote positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day
Provide pastoral support to pupils and help create an inclusive learning environment
Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff
Follow all safeguarding procedures and school policies
Requirements:
Level 1 or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
A minimum of 12 weeks’ experience in a UK primary school
Good understanding of the primary curriculum
Flexible, proactive, and confident supporting pupils across different year groups
Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two professional references from recent school-based roles
