Job description

Head of Year – Manchester – ASAP start

We are working with a Head teacher, who is looking to secure the services of a head of year to join them as soon as possible. This position will be on a full time basis, will initially be on a supply basis, but will become permanent.

You may be an experienced, confident TA who is currently available. You need to be confident and calm when dealing with extremely challenging behaviour, and be looking for a role where no 2 days are the same.

Your primary role will be to intervene and de-escalate negative behaviour, at the request of the teachers you are supporting. To be truly effective in this role, you must be calm, adaptable and overall, an outstanding communicator! If you have some experience of “on call” pastoral support, this would be advantageous but not essential.

Applicants must have a good level of literacy and numeracy skills. Successful candidates will be expected to be fully involved in academy activities. Additional responsibilities would be discussed dependent upon the experience and qualifications of the applicants.
