We are working exclusively with a large Secondary school in Salford, who are looking for a recent English graduate, who may be looking to pursue a career in education or wishing to embark on a PGCE in September 2025 or 2026 to work in the English department as a tutor and teaching assistant. The role will start in January, it will be part time (4 days a week) and will be for the remainder of the current academic year.
You will be responsible for supporting pupils within the English department in key stage 3 & 4, you will also have a small timetable (these are called intervention groups) where you will provide intensive support to small groups of learners. You will formulate a superb understanding of the curriculum at KS3 & 4 English, which will bode well for their future studies. You will be supported by outstanding teachers and a strong, highly recognised leadership team.

Minimum rate of pay GBP95 per day
Hours 11am – 6pm Monday to Thursday
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree educated with a good classification, in English
High grade in English & Maths at GCSE level
A level in English Literature or Language
Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, online training can be provided)
Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, online training can be provided)
Up to date behaviour management or FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide professional references to cover the last 2 years
