We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented EHCP Writer to join our team and support the creation and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

This role is critical in ensuring that EHCPs are clear, person-centred, legally compliant, and reflect the needs, aspirations, and outcomes for the child or young person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate professional reports and multi-agency contributions into clear and coherent EHCP sections.
  • Ensure all EHCPs are legally compliant and meet statutory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with SEN officers, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals, schools, and families.
  • Review and update existing EHCPs as needed, incorporating updated assessments and feedback.
  • Manage deadlines efficiently to ensure timely completion of plans.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience writing or reviewing EHCPs.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation (Children and Families Act 2014).

  • Ability to understand and synthesise complex information from a range of sources.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Desirable

  • Background in education, SEN, social work, or allied health professions.
  • Experience working within or alongside a local authority SEND team.
  • Understanding of person-centred approaches and outcomes-focused planning.

What We Offer

  • Flexible working arrangements (remote/hybrid options)
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND
