About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a secondary school in Bootle starting September 2025. This is a vital role in ensuring the school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all pupils, staff, and visitors.

Location: Bootle, L20

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-time

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine maintenance checks, cleaning, and minor repairs
• Managing heating, lighting, and alarm systems
• Overseeing contractors and ensuring site safety and compliance
• Groundskeeping and general upkeep of facilities

What We’re Looking For:

• A self-motivated and reliable team player
• Practical skills in maintenance and DIY
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Awareness of health & safety and safeguarding best practices

Requirements:

• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training will be provided).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Ability to provide a minimum of two professional references/cover the last 2 years in references
