Do you have experience working as a Care Assistant? Prospero Teaching are looking for confident individuals to support children with Special Educational Needs in Huddersfield ASAP.

At Prospero Teaching, we work with various different schools in which the children and young people who attend have a wide range of SEND ranging from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). In addition to learning needs some pupils have sensory needs including visual impairments, hearing impairments and multi-sensory impairments; some pupils also have complex medical needs.

What we are looking for:

Someone to support young people with generic learning difficulties of 11-19 years with SEND (from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)) in a school setting.

The schools personal approach to learning ensures that a unique and stimulating curriculum is created to suit the needs of every individual pupil. You must be very proactive and confident working with all complex needs.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location – Huddersfield
  • Position – Care Assistant
  • Start Date – ASAP
  • End Date – N/A
  • Duration / Likely Duration – Ongoing
  • Full time/Part-time – Full Time
  • Contract Type: Long term
  • Hours – 08:30 – 3:30
  • The Minimum Rate of Pay – £65 per day.

EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant experience in a school or similar setting.
  • Experience of working with children and young people/adults with special educational needs.
  • Care Assistant Experience – Essential

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • GCSE English/Maths at grade A to C or equivalent.
  • Relevent Healthcare/SEN Support training
  • Commitment to all CPD offered
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as this can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
