Biology teacher – Bury – September start

A dedicated and passionate Biology Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Bury, to join them on a full-time basis, teaching key stage 3 and 4 Biology from September until July 25.

This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced Biology teachers. It is advantageous if you can also teach Chemistry and/or Physics to key stage 3.

You will be required to become fully involved within the Science department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents’ evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high quality Biology lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. In a Biology department with well sequenced learning, with clear links to their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way.

Hours 8:30am 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) with Biology ideally, or another Science related subject

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of GBP45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
