Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced Behavioural Mentor; ideally a psychology graduate to work in an alternative educational provision in Bury to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).

It would be advantageous if you have worked with students in an educational setting with SEMH previously, however this is not essential.

The school is accessed by good road and public transport networks and there is ample parking on site.

The role is working in SEN Support and will consist of:

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEMH and SEN (special education needs)
  • Creating a safe environment that allows the children to have fun, learn and succeed
  • Academic support of a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the teacher

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Teaching assistant qualification would be desired but not essential
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN in a school on a voluntary or paid basis OR
  • Experience of working with children in a youth setting or alternative provision

Position Details:

  • Location – Bury
  • Position – SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Contract Type – Temporary
  • Minimum Daily Rate – £85
  • Hours – 8.30-4pm (Term Time only) Monday – Friday
  • Start Date – ASAP

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High grade in English & Maths at GCSE
  • Previous experience working with young people desirable
  • Previous experience working with SEMH pupils
  • updated safeguarding training (essential, however, training can be provided)
  • Updated prevent awareness training (essential, however, training can be provided)
  • Up to date behaviour management training (desirable, however we can provide training)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80.
  • Provide a minimum of two professional references
