Are you a recent graduate looking to gain experience in a school setting before pursuing a career in teaching, psychology, or education?

A secondary SEMH school in Hulme is seeking enthusiastic and committed Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with experienced teaching staff and support students both in and out of the classroom.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, youll play a key role in raising attainment and promoting student engagement. Youll provide targeted support to pupils in your subject areawhether thats Maths, English, Science, Humanities, Psychology, or another fieldthrough a mix of classroom assistance, one-to-one academic interventions, and small group sessions. These sessions may focus on reinforcing key concepts, preparing for assessments, or building foundational skills in literacy and numeracy.

You will be supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs to engage with the curriculum. They have all been taken out of mainstream education due to their needs, and they also display some challenging behaviour.

These roles are ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, or youth and social work. Many schools offer progression routes into teacher training for those who show potential and commitment.

Key Details:

Location: Hulme

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full academic year, full-time

Pay: GBP110 – 130 per day (depending on experience)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree educated with a good classification, in English
· High grade in English & Maths at GCSE level
· A level in English Literature or Language
Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can beprovided.
· Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential
· Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide professional references to cover the last 2 years
