The Reinvention Of The Paperclip

April 03, 2017

150 years after its patent, the paperclip has received a 21st Century makeover which is set to consign the frustrations of its predecessor to the history books.

Well-known for its ability to spring off documents easily, end up in shredders or the bin and for finding uses other than for holding paper together, the humble paperclip has remained a core item of office stationery for all these years.

Samuel B Fay patented the first paperclip on this day in 1867, the year Queen Victoria laid the first foundation stone for the Royal Albert Hall.  150 years later, after over 10 years development work, the Klamt combines the best of the staple and the paperclip into a single device.

Teachers all over the world have been using paper clips since the day they were on sale and no school would be without them. Which asks the question, would you move onto a newer tool like Klamt?

Innoverce Engineering has set its sights on changing all that with the launch of its paper fastening device Klamt.  23rd April 2017 marks the 150th anniversary of the patenting of the first paperclip – and is the official UK launch date of Klamt.
