Year 7 Teacher Needed in Milton Keynes

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a QTS Primary Teacher to join a SEN school in Milton Keynes who specialise in children with Autism. The position will be full-time (Monday – Friday) and starts immediately. The school have exceptional facilites having only opened in September.

The building is a warm, well lit edwardian structure. Overall there are about 60 students between the ages of 11 and 16, with numbers growing to just over a hundred. Most students have ASD or ADHD but are not of exceptionally severe needs.

The atmosphere is very supportive and positive. Teachers and students are content in the school and their is a well organised enriching enviorment.

Daily Rate: Paid to scale

Location: Milton Keynes

Contract Type: Long Term

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Full -Time (Monday – Friday)

The successful applicants will have:

• Previous experience working with people with learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or Physical, Mental, Sensory Impairments
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents/careers
• Excellent literacy, numeracy & ICT skills
• Hold an Enhanced Child & Adult barred list DBS Certificate

The role will consist of:

• Offering support to the class teacher
• Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
• Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
• Building good student – teacher rapport
• Support aspects of personal and intimate care
