Caretaker / Facilities Officer

CARETAKER / FACILITIES OFFICER – OLDHAM, LANCASHIRE

I am looking for a Caretaker / Facilities Officer, to cover a short-term absence at a School in Oldham. This role is five days a week, starting after October half-term and is expected to run until around Christmas 2025. It may be reviewed and extended.

The main duties of the position are:

– Collecting and delivering parcels and post
– Emptying internal and external bins
– Litter duties
– May be some cleaning duties
– May be some maintainence / repair duties
– General on-site maintainence jobs
– Escorting contractors and external staff around the site
– Compliance checks (if appropriate)
– Following H&S guidelines at all times
– Some key holding duties (potentially)

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location – Oldham, Lancashire
Position – Caretaker / Facilities Officer
Type of work – Medium Term, Non-Teaching role
Start date ASAP, September 2025
Duration / Likely Duration – December 2025, subject to review
End date (if applicable) – December 2025, subject to review

Minimum rate of pay – GBP100 per day minimum
Hours – 8:30am to 3:30pm, may vary due to key holder duties as / when needed

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Up to date PREVENT training, issued in the last three years
Up to date Professional Boundaries training, issued in the last twelve months

The above courses are available for free through Prospero Teaching, if you do not currently hold them.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional references
