Starting from GBP25 per hour

Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with North Tyneside Local Authority to provide tuition to a young person with Special Education Needs with an EHCP. This individual is currently on a waiting list for a specialist placement, you will be acting as their alternative education provision until a suitable placement is found. This individual is 15 years old, located in Howdon. The young person has a variety of conditions, including Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay and a variety of associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, patient and empathetic tutor to utilise their skills & make a meaningful difference in the lives of a vulnerable individual.
Tuition is commissioned for 6 hours per week, usually split into three sessions of 2 hours, or two sessions of 3 hours. We can build up your timetable to accommodate either full or part time hours. While we have this role available in North Tyneside, we also work closely with Newcastle Local Authority to provide tuition for students with SEND or who have been permanently excluded from their education provision.
What we expect from you
As part of your role, you will be expected to:
· Build a rapport with the young person
· Tailor lessons to their needs
· Mark sessional attendance
· Complete weekly reports
· Complete an Individual Learning Plan

What we need from you:
· Hold the right to work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application
· Provide references to cover the last two years of employment
· The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
