SEN Tutor (English, Maths & Science up to GCSE)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate and dedicated SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who require additional support outside of a mainstream classroom setting.

This rewarding opportunity involves working with children and young people across primary and secondary ages, delivering tailored lessons in core subjects including English, Maths and Science up to GCSE level. Many students may have EHCPs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, or other barriers to learning that have impacted their education.

As an SEN Tutor, you will create engaging, differentiated learning programmes that build confidence, improve attainment, and help students develop a positive relationship with education. You will play a vital role in supporting learners to achieve both academic and personal progress in a safe and supportive environment.

This role is ideal for experienced teachers, tutors, SEN professionals, or graduates with relevant experience who are looking to make a meaningful difference through personalised education.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS, PGCE, QTLS, Degree-level qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or other additional needs
  • Experience delivering English, Maths and/or Science up to GCSE level
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and differentiated teaching approaches
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (desirable but not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
