SEN Teaching Assistant – Southampton

Prospero Teaching are working with a range of mainstream and SEN schools across Southampton who are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN). These roles involve supporting pupils both in class and on a 1:1 basis, helping them access learning and develop confidence.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have a calm, patient, and compassionate approach
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Are proactive, adaptable, and resilient
  • Are confident supporting children with additional needs in structured settings
  • Recognise and celebrate small achievements in student progress

Contract details:

  • Location – Southampton, Hampshire
  • Position – SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Start date – ASAP
  • Contract type – Long term supply or temp to perm
  • Duration – Ongoing
  • Full time – Full time role
  • Minimum rate of pay – £14.25 per hour

Eligibility:

  • Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (GCSE)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A nurturing and consistent approach
  • Reliable, committed, and able to use initiative
