Nurture Teacher – April 2021 start – South West London – SEMH/Challenging Behaviour

Are you an experienced Nurture Teacher looking for a new challenge or career progression?

I am actively recruiting a Nurture Teacher with a passion for working with vulnerable children with highly complex SEMH needs. This role will start from September on a full-time basis. Long-term/permanent

Brief overview:

  • Nurture Teacher – KS3

  • Location: Mitcham

  • Alternative Provision for primary and secondary aged pupils with SEMH, autism and behavioural needs

  • Role to start September 2022

  • Must be able to teach in a school for SEMH

  • Ability to engage children with SEND is essential

About the role of Nurture Teacher:

As a Nurture Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons for a nurture class. This setting will require all teachers to focus on the whole child, working with the school’s multidisciplinary team helping students find ways to do the things they need and want to do. You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, helpful therapeutic and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning and reaching their full potential.

Requirements for Nurture Teacher:

For this Nurture Teacher opportunity, you will need to hold QTS and have relevant experience as a Teacher. You will need solid experience to include working with highly vulnerable children, pupils at risk of exploitation, gang-related issues, violent and aggressive behaviour, substance misuse, school phobic, highly disengaged pupils and anxiety disorders. Your approach will be holistic and therapeutic to suit the needs of their children and young people.
