Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm


About the Opportunity

A successful and well-regarded secondary school in Bury is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its established department from September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Support students in developing scientific knowledge, practical skills, and analytical thinking
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future planning
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations, ensuring strong levels of attainment
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and purposeful learning environment
  • Participate in departmental initiatives and whole-school activities

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Has recent experience teaching Science in a secondary setting
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Is confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
  • Shows a commitment to supporting student progress and engagement
  • Works well within a collaborative and professional team

Essential Criteria

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two satisfactory references relating to work with children or young people
