Science Teacher

Prospero Teaching is working with a secondary school in the Basingstoke area to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is a great opportunity to join a well‑established school with a supportive Science department and a focus on delivering high‑quality teaching and learning.

You will be responsible for teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils of varying abilities, and contributing to strong academic outcomes. The school welcomes applications from specialists in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science, and is open to both experienced teachers and ECTs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Science Teacher looking to secure a permanent or stable role ahead of the new academic year.

The Role:

  • Teach Science across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver structured lessons
  • Mark work and assess student progress
  • Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaboration
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science
  • Experience teaching at secondary level
  • Confident classroom practitioner
  • Effective behaviour management skills
  • Organised and committed to delivering high standards
  • Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs

Contract Details:

  • Position: Science Teacher (QTS)
  • Location: Basingstoke
  • Start Date: September
  • Working Pattern: Full‑time
  • Pay Rate: £32,916 – £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
  • Key Stages: KS3-KS4

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

  • QTS required
  • Secondary Science teaching experience preferred
  • Safeguarding training can be provided
