ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Religious Studies Teacher to join an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Hertfordshire on a full-time basis starting September 2022.

 

The school is a small faith, secondary school located in Hertfordshire.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic Religious Studies teaching job to join the dynamic Religious Studies teaching team. The Religious Studies team they are team within the Humanities team made up of 13 teachers. RE is taught at GCSE and A level and at A leel they follow OCR.

THE RELIGIOUS STUDIES TEACHER WILL COVER A RANGE OF TOPICS INCLUDING THE BELOW AND FOLLOW OCR:

  • Relationships & Families, Religion & Life
  • Islam: Beliefs & Teachings
  • The Existence of God & Revelation
  • Religion, Peace & Conflict
  • Religious Studies is taught at Key stage 5 and covers:
  • Philosophy of Religion, Ethics and Religion, Studies of Christianity, Study of Religion: Christianity and Dialogues and much more

THE RELIGIOUS STUDIES TEACHER WILL NEED TO BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • To assist in the delivery of the curriculum through the scheduled teaching programme and the provision of cover for absent teachers in emergencies.
  • To perform duties and attend meetings as reasonably required.
  • An excellent classroom practitioner who leads by example
  • Skilled at reviewing, monitoring and evaluating progress and results
  • The statutory curriculum requirements for the subject, the requirements for assessment recording and reporting and the use of assessment for learning in developing student understanding.
  • The position is open to both NQT’s and experienced teachers. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Duration / Likely Duration – temp to perm

Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary to permanent

Full time/part-time – Full time, 5 days a week

Minimum rate – in line with your payscale

Hours – 8 am – 4pm, plus parents evenings

Transport – parking onsite with a variety of public transport options

 

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS – RELIGIOUS STUDIES TEACHER

BEd / PGCE/ QTS or equivalent teaching degree

Minimum 1-year experience as a Religious Studies Teacher

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS RELIGIOUS STUDIES TEACHING JOB THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Be able to work a minimum of 5 FULL days Monday –  Friday

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child related references
