Apply Your Teaching Skills in a More Personalised Setting

We’re looking for QTS or PGCE-qualified Tutors to support children and young people across the BCP area through tailored 1:1 tuition in English, Maths, and Science.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you’ll provide personalised support to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a flexible, individualised approach that helps them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified educators who want the flexibility of tutoring while continuing to make a meaningful impact on young people’s education.

  • Subjects: English, Maths & Science
  • Start Date: September
  • Hours: Flexible
  • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
  • Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

  • QTS or PGCE qualification
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in an educational setting, including teaching, tutoring, learning support, mentoring, teaching assistant, or similar roles
  • Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science
  • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area

Who You’ll Support

You’ll work with learners of varying ages who may have:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs

Your role will be to help students strengthen their core subject knowledge while building confidence, engagement, and independence in learning.
