Prospero Teaching is working alongside a mixed, college in Stevenage, Hertfordshire educating just over 900 students, 230 in the 6th form. The Headteacher is actively seeking a Maths teacher to join the Maths department and contribute towards the wider community.
A good, mixed secondary school located in Stevenage, is seeking a teacher of Maths who can deliver Key Stage 4 and in time Key stage 5 for a SEPTEMBER 2022 start
The Maths course is divided into five strands: “Number”, “Algebra”, “Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change”, “Geometry and Measures” and “Probability and Statistics”. The students are taught in 5 classes in each year, in a combination of set and mixed ability groups and are able to solve problems and to research hypotheses, developing skills required both for study beyond GCSE and those required in the workplace and everyday life.
Maths also develops students’ ability to think abstractly and critically, and to use these skills to see links between these four concepts and solve problems.
The Maths department is made up of 8 Maths specialists ranging in ability and skill which contribute to a supportive, cohesive department. The dept follow AQA.
The Maths department stretch students’ knowledge and understanding by running popular extra-curricular activities including trips and visits, visiting workshops and master-classes.
