Prospero Teaching are working with a specialist SEND school in Andover who are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher for a September start. This is a permanent opportunity within a well-resourced and supportive setting, ideal for a Maths specialist passionate about working with students with additional needs.

You will be joining a dedicated and multidisciplinary team supporting students aged 11-19 with autism and associated needs. The provision takes a highly personalised approach, combining the National Curriculum with therapeutic support to enable students to develop both academically and personally.

The school is particularly interested in teachers who can deliver engaging, accessible Maths lessons, adapt learning to individual EHCP outcomes, and build confidence in learners who may have previously found education challenging.

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting students to achieve meaningful outcomes, working collaboratively with teaching assistants and an in-house therapy team to create a positive and structured learning environment.

Contract Details

Location – Andover, Hampshire
Position – Maths Teacher
Type of work – Maths across KS3 and KS4 (up to GCSE)
Start date – September 2026
Contract type – Permanent
Full time/part time – Full time (40 hours per week)
Minimum rate of pay – Up to £42,000 per annum
Hours – School hours, plus meetings as required

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4
  • Experience working in a SEND, specialist, or alternative provision setting (or strong interest in SEND)
  • Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to meet a range of needs and EHCP outcomes
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Confident, reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable)

Eligibility

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • Two professional child-related references covering the last 2 years
