A specialist independent provision is seeking a committed, adaptable and pupil‑centred Maths & English Tutor to support learners with diverse and complex needs. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility, creativity and meaningful impact.

The Role

As a Maths & English Tutor, you will deliver engaging, accessible learning across GCSE and Functional Skills pathways. You will work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis, adapting your teaching to meet varied learning styles and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised lessons in Maths and/or English at GCSE and Functional Skills levels
• Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils with SEMH and neurodiverse profiles
• Create differentiated, engaging resources
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet EHCP outcomes
• Monitor and report progress in a meaningful, pupil‑centred way
• Build positive, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and confidence

About You

You will be someone who is:

• Experienced in GCSE or Functional Skills delivery
• Confident supporting pupils with SEMH and neurodiversity
• Calm, patient and creative in your approach
• Skilled at building rapport and fostering a safe learning environment
• Flexible and able to tailor learning to individual needs
• Passionate about helping young people re‑engage with education
