As a Learning Mentor, you will provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and improve engagement and attainment.
As a Learning Mentor, you will provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and improve engagement and attainment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or Support Worker who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
Many of the pupils you will work with may have been out of education for some time or require additional support due to SEND, SEMH, or other learning needs. Your role will be to develop positive relationships, encourage participation in learning, and help establish routines that promote educational progress and personal development.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor each pupil’s progress and provide ongoing support throughout your placement.

Location – Within the community or educational settings in Wolverhampton
Position – Learning Mentor

Duration – Until the pupil can successfully reintegrate into a suitable educational placement
End date (if applicable) – Ongoing
Contract type – Temporary
Full-time/Part-time – Part-time (15 hours per week, per student)
Minimum rate of pay – £22+ per hour
Hours – Working hours may vary depending on the needs of the pupil and family
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the Learning Mentor:
Experience working with children or young people in an educational, mentoring, youth work, or support setting
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or those who are disengaged from education is desirable
Be patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships
Have excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Be confident adapting support to meet individual learning needs
To be eligible for this role, the Learning Mentor must:
Hold the right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
