KS1 Teaching Assistant – South Manchester – required for September start

We are working in partnership with schools in South Manchester that are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026.

Working in South Manchester offers the opportunity to work within diverse and vibrant communities where education can have a significant and lasting impact. South Manchester schools serve children from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with additional learning needs and varying levels of socio-economic disadvantage. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about inclusion and eager to help every child achieve their full potential in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group phonics and literacy interventions
  • Assist with planning and preparing classroom resources
  • Support pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, structured learning environment
  • Contribute confidently within the classroom and take initiative when required

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Previous experience working within Key Stage 1
  • Confidence supporting phonics, early reading, writing and numeracy
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • References covering the last 24 months
