Head of Mathematics

Prospero Teaching are looking for an innovative and ambitious Head of Mathematics to join a school in Brent’s leadership team and help take them school to the next stage of its development. This would be a permanent position, starting in September 2022.

You must be an exceptional Maths Teacher that can build exceptional rapport with your students, as well as having strong behaviour management. This school are welcoming applications from both Head of departments in addition to Maths Teachers that are looking for a step up.

A consistent background teaching Maths would be essential for this position and the ability to lead and management a department is equally as vital.

Key responsibilities

The full remit of the post will be negotiated dependent on the skills and experience of the candidate appointed. Specific responsibilities are subject to change.

The Subject Leader will take responsibility for the following specific roles within their wider role as a middle leader of the school:

• Coordinate Maths across the academy
• Lead the professional community of Maths Teachers
• Plan, resource and teach Maths lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and pupils make excellent progress
• Provide a nurturing classroom and academy environment that helps pupils to develop as learners
• Help to maintain discipline across the whole Academy
• Contribute to the effective working of the Academy

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a UK school would be ideal
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all required vetting checks
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
