Prospero Teaching is currently seeking Graduates who are interested in becoming a Teaching Assistant and teachers in the future. We have successfully appointed graduates into teacher training roles in secondary schools in Kensington and Chelsea and schools are seeking more.

 

We are seeking Graduates with a degree to join a school in Kensington and Chelsea to support students with learning difficulties with a view to becoming a trainee teacher. We are seeking graduates who have strong communication skills, are dedicated, graduates who will be good role models and who want to learn, grow and develop while building rapport with students, teachers, and parents.

 

Prospero Teaching is seeking a range of Graduates with a degree in any subject and is able to start in September 2022.

 

What does the Graduate teaching role involve?

The Graduate teaching role includes supporting the class teacher and students during lessons, 1:1 session, intervention groups and working with other departments. The lessons will have delivered to all year groups Key Stage 3, Key stage 4 and the desire to work with Key Stage 5 is preferable but not essential.

 

What support will I be given as a Graduate?
As a new member of staff, you will be given an induction by Prospero Teaching as well as the school and allocated a line manager at the school. You’ll be given training, guidance and support by an experienced consultant at Prospero, our Training and Development Team as well as from the school. Training and CPD sessions are also offered. Resources at the school are fantastic; all departments are well resourced, have a supportive team and are keen to secure someone to essentially support them.

The School does not have high staff turnover.

Prospero Teaching has a long-standing relationship with the Headteacher, Assistant Headteachers, and the SENCO and has a strong understanding of the requirements of the school hence they have asked us to recruit for this post. The role also offers the option of being permanent or on a contractual basis depending on the successful Graduate ‘s needs.

Behaviour at the school is well managed, the teachers are supported by the teaching assistants to support the lower ability, gifted and talented and students who require additional support to ensure the teaching and learning is effective. You will be informed of the behaviour management policy and trained on strategies used to manage any challenges you may face, this will, in turn, build your knowledge and ability to manage behaviour more effectively should you wish to become a teacher in the future.

 

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be exposed to students of various abilities, you will need to analyse data and build up your ability to raise attainment using skills, lesson plans, numeracy, and literacy tasks to raise attainment. Again, this will build your knowledge of how students are monitored, data is analysed and attainment is raised and students are managed more effectively by teachers.

 

Graduate teaching hours and pay:

Full-time school hours, 8am – 5, Monday to Friday.

The role is paid weekly and is at a daily rate of £90 per day.
