Prospero Teaching are looking for a DT teacher to work in a “Good” school based in Brent. The successful DT teacher will be expected to teach DT at Key stages 3 & 4. This is a full-time Maternity Cover from September 2022.

The DT department is well resourced and has a supportive and approachable head of department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful department in an already successful school. The school is happy to receive applications from both experienced teachers and NQTs.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching resistant materials – also taught AQA design and technology. In addition, a bonus would be to find some with experience with the CAD/CAM machine.

Responsibilities

  • To plan, resource and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard, thereby ensuring meaningful learning takes place and pupils make rapid and sustained progress
  • To develop one’s own teaching practice to a level of advanced proficiency
  • To fully implement all academy routines and techniques for creating a culture of high expectations
  • To contribute to the enrichment, extra-curricular and raising aspirations programmes
  • To provide daily pastoral tutoring to a form group
  • To contribute to the effective daily working of the academy

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • No formal qualifications/experience are required for cover supervision work. Please note desirable qualities will be a resilient personality, good time keeping, confidence managing classes/prior experience working with young people
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent (to be offered supply teaching work)
  • Previous experience working in a UK school would be ideal
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all required vetting checks
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
