Cover Supervisor – Andover

Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary and primary schools in the Andover area. This role involves supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre‑prepared lesson materials, and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged throughout the lesson.

You will take responsibility for maintaining a structured learning environment, managing behaviour effectively, and supporting students with their work. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to gain practical classroom experience.

Work is available on a full‑time or flexible day‑to‑day basis, depending on your availability.

The Role:

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson content across a range of subjects
• Supervise pupils and maintain classroom routines
• Manage behaviour in line with school expectations
• Support students with lesson tasks and engagement
• Cover lessons across different subject areas
• Provide cover for both pre‑planned and short‑notice absences
• Maintain a calm and structured classroom environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people (education, coaching, mentoring, etc.)
• Confident leading a classroom independently
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Calm, adaptable, and professional approach
• Comfortable covering a variety of subjects
• Graduates and aspiring teachers encouraged to apply

Contract Details:

• Position: Cover Supervisor
• Location: Andover
• Start Date: ASAP
• Working Pattern: Full‑time or day‑to‑day
• Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
• Key Stages: KS3-KS4

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

• Experience working with young people essential
• Behaviour‑management experience beneficial
• Safeguarding training can be provided
