Cover Supervisor – Basingstoke

Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary and primary schools in the Basingstoke area. This role involves stepping into the classroom in the teacher’s absence, delivering pre‑prepared lesson content, and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged throughout the lesson.

You will be responsible for maintaining a structured classroom environment, managing behaviour, and supporting students with their work. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people who wants to gain valuable classroom experience.

Work is available on a full‑time or flexible day‑to‑day basis, depending on your availability.

The Role:

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson content across a range of subjects
• Supervise pupils and maintain classroom routines
• Manage behaviour in line with school expectations
• Support students with learning tasks and engagement
• Cover a variety of subjects as required
• Provide cover for both pre‑booked and short‑notice absences
• Maintain a calm and well‑organised classroom environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, etc.)
• Confident leading a classroom independently
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Calm, flexible, and professional approach
• Comfortable covering different subjects
• Graduates and aspiring teachers encouraged to apply

Contract Details:

• Position: Cover Supervisor
• Location: Basingstoke
• Start Date: ASAP
• Working Pattern: Full‑time or day‑to‑day
• Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
• Key Stages: KS3-KS4

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

• Experience working with young people essential
• Behaviour‑management experience beneficial
• Safeguarding training can be provided
