A mixed, growing secondary school area actively seeking Qualified Secondary School teachers to join their school starting in September 2022.

As an ART/ Design Technology teacher  you will have completed your teacher training and will be seeking a teaching post where you can complete your Induction year.

As an Art Design Technology teacher, you will be hard-working, a team player and be someone who engages with students, work well with staff and parents. The school is interested in appointing a Art/ Design Technology to join a thriving and dynamic department in September 2020.

All students study Design Technology at GCSE level and AQA is followed. Students develop student mathematical confidence and enthusiasm, and which builds a strong foundation for transition to further study in art/  Design Technology. Key stage 3 introduces students to design and make various products, using a range of different materials within the departments of Product Design, Textiles and Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Key stage 4 students are encouraged to engage in an iterative process to be innovative thinkers and to design and make various products, using a range of different materials within the departments of Product Design, Textiles and Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Prospero has been asked to recruit vacancy with us to ensure they appoint the most suitable Design Technology teacher available for September 2020 to continue the successful teaching delivered to key stage 3, key stage 4 and Key stage 5.

Behaviour at the school is good and well managed due to the behaviour policy. Students are from a range of backgrounds and some speak English as a second language and are supported by 1:1 TAs which helps with behaviour and accessing the National Curriculum. The Special Needs Department provides outstanding support to the whole school.

THE RIGHT DESIGN TECHNOLOGY WILL BE:
• Hold a BA and PGCE in Design Technology or Art
• Confident with teaching GCSE Art &  Design

THE SUCCESSFUL DESIGN TECHNOLOGY WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
• Exceptional degree and GCSEs
• UK classroom teaching experience
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Be able to provide teaching references for the last 2 years
• A fully enhanced DBS on the online update service
• Salary paid to scale – teachers’ pay scale MPS
